In preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage a couple needs to contact Jen in the Parish Office at least 6 months prior to the desired date of Marriage to confirm the date is available.
  • Then a Marriage Request Form should be submitted to begin the Marriage preparation process.  At least one party must be a practicing Catholic and a registered member of the parish.
  • The couple will be required to participate in the Sponsor Couple program or the Engaged Weekend Encounter.
  • The couple will also need to meet with Father Dan Dorau on 3 separate occasions.  For more detailed information you may download the Marriage Preparation Guidelines.
For information on the rehearsal and decorating the church please review this document.
Please contact Jen in the parish office with additional questions. (319) 837-6808 or [email protected]

Marriage is a sacrament and is indissoluble. Once married a couple is married until one person has died. Divorce does not dissolve a marriage.
However, their are certain marriages that are invalid from the start.  The Annulment process is a judicial process
to allow people who believe that their marriage was invalid to attempt to prove that fact. In an attempt to improve this process Pope Francis issued a document revising the marriage nullity process.  If you have questions about this process you can view or print the Davenport Diocese FAQ or you may contact Father Dan Dorau
